PAUSEBY MEL Book a Pause

Lymphatic Drainage Facial Massage

Light hands. Less puffiness.
A jaw you can see again.

Prices current as of July 2026

Lymphatic drainage facial massage at Pause by Mel is a $20 add-on. It is a light, rhythmic technique that encourages the lymphatic system to move fluid away from your face, so puffiness settles and the jaw and cheekbones look more defined. Mel works it into the massage stage of your facial.

Why the pressure is so light

Lymph vessels sit just beneath the surface of the skin, not down in the muscle. Pressing hard actually flattens them shut. The strokes are slow and barely there on purpose, which catches people out if they were expecting a deep tissue massage on their face.

What you notice afterwards

Less swelling under the eyes and along the jaw, and a face that looks like it has had a proper night's sleep. It is the add-on to pick if your skin is fine but you always look tired, or before something you are being photographed at.

Mention it when you book, or ask Mel on the day. It pairs particularly well with The Deep Exhale at $79, where the massage stage is already the heart of the treatment.

Lymphatic drainage questions

How much is a lymphatic drainage facial massage in Papamoa?

It is $20 added to any facial at Pause by Mel. Mel works it into the massage part of your treatment rather than tacking it on at the end.

Does lymphatic drainage massage help with a puffy face?

That is the main reason people ask for it. The technique encourages lymphatic flow, which is what carries fluid away, so the jaw and under-eye area look less swollen and more defined afterwards.

Is it a firm massage?

No, the opposite. Lymphatic work is deliberately light and rhythmic because the vessels sit just under the skin. If it feels like it is barely happening, that is correct.
