Hi, I'm Mel.
I created Pause because, as a mum of three, I understand how easily women put themselves last. We spend so much of our lives caring for everyone else that taking time for ourselves can start to feel like a luxury. When really, it should be a necessity.
That's why Pause exists.
A calm, welcoming home studio in Papamoa Beach, where the pace slows, and you can simply breathe. A peaceful space where, for just a little while, there's nowhere else you need to be.
Every treatment I offer is designed with intention. Whether you're here for relaxation, skin health, or just an hour where nothing is expected of you, my hope is that you leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
A session at Pause is unhurried. A short chat about your skin, then a double cleanse, gentle steam, slow facial massage and a mask chosen for you. You leave with your skin glowing and your shoulders a little lower than when you arrived.

The space
Pause by Mel is a home-based sanctuary tucked away on Wairakei Avenue in Papamoa Beach, just a short drive from Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. Every appointment is one-on-one, giving you uninterrupted time to slow down. Comforting warmth, soothing aromas, and peaceful stillness create a space where you can truly pause.
Each treatment combines products I've personally selected and genuinely love using. Dermalogica sets the scene with its results-driven formulas and botanical scents, while optional additions like Esthemax Hydrojelly Masks and LED Light Therapy offer targeted support for your skin's unique needs.
